by Morighann, 139 days ago'grats to our guild Leftovers Raiding Charter: The Raid Your Man Could Smell Like, for downing Ragnaros in the Firelands -- thus clearing the current tier of standard content, and opening up heroic efforts!
by Morighann, 184 days agoFish.
Scaly bastards.
Like birds of the sea.
But, get them out of their element, and they suddenly become worth their weight in gold!
In order to get us closer to unlocking the Seafood Feast (which requires us as a guild to fish up a total of 10k fish from pools), the guild fish bounty has been increased to 40g a stack.
To get this, simply:
[1] Fish out of any pool of your choice
[2] When you have a full stack of 20 fish of the same type from the pool(s), mail them to Gada with a 40gold Cash on Delivery
[3] Laugh, because you are making money and Cash on Delivery is CoD, wish is a fishy pun, given the circumstances.
[4] Get the fish returned via in-game post.
by Morighann, 191 days agoAfter discussion on this site and in-game, the active leads have decided that for time being, we are best off simply disabling the Guild Repair Button and leaving everyone's ability to withdraw gold from the guild bank as-is.
This gives us a system that:
- Still permits people to use guild funds to off-set repair costs -- it just means actually withdrawing gold from the bank instead of clicking the 'guild repair' button at a vendor (even this minor change should reduce the amount of repair drain).
- Fairly allows consistent access to guild funds for repairs or other purposes -- everyone at a given level of bank access can withdraw the same amount of gold per day, for whatever guild appropriate purpose they desire (repairs, leveling professions, etc.).
- Allows for those with unusually high guild-related repair bills to be additionally compensated (just talk to a lead, and we can sort it out).
- Makes tracking guild funds more manageable -- the guild bank money log was being spammed with repair withdrawal notices to the point that it made tracking what was going in/out of the bank and for whom all but impossible.
- Preserves the solvency of the guild bank -- allowing new members to get their mount coverage and the like.
We will look at turning guild repairs back on when we have a larger gold cushion in the bank, general repair costs are lower, and/or Blizz gives us a more robust guild bank management interface.
by Morighann, 196 days agoI will be putting together a raid to whatever old content people like (default: Battle for Hyjal's Past) at 9:30a...
Just let me know if you want to come along.
by Morighann, 201 days agoIt has become clear over the past few weeks that the guild's cash flow situation is ultimately not sustainable...
Since the largest (by far) single drain on guild coffers is Repair Funds, it seems wise to have a discussion about this -->

by Morighann, 201 days agoIn answer to a few questions, yes the guild is still rewarding members who make progress on the [That's a Lot of Bait] Achivement with cold hard cash.
